I still remember, as a rather impatient teenager, not quite getting the point of warm-ups. "I don't need to warm-up," I'd profess. "I'm ready to go. Why should I waste my energy warming-up?" Fact: An effective warm-up and cool down contributes to 1) the performance levels of an athlete, 2) the prevention of injury, and 3) recovery/conditioning of an athlete.
