The Mechanics of Riding

Most adults remember learning to ride as a young child. They got on a bicycle (usually with training wheels) and one of their parents ran along side them holding the bike. Eventually when the child (and the parent) was ready, they would let go and the child would go riding off on their own. Most people however never broke down the individual skills necessary to ride a bike. They never thought about the individual movements necessary to make a bike move successfully and safely. Hopefully after reading this article you will understand the specifics of riding a bike and have a better grasp of the physical mechanics. This will make you a stronger and happier rider.
