Dehydration is the main cause of heat related illness and can be dangerous if not kept in check. When working or exercising at a level that causes the body to sweat, it is recommended that you drink 5 to 7 ounces of cool fluids every 15-20 minutes in order to rehydrate the body. The average person doing moderate exercise in moderate temperature needs at least 1 liter of water per hour.
